I’ve read quite a bit of science fiction over the years. At first, I read stories that painted a more-or-less positive view of the future. Lately, the newer stories are very dystopian or apocalyptic (e.g. “The Walking Dead”).
This video of Boston Dynamic’s new robot brings to mind Isaac Asimov’s “Three Laws of Robotics”, which he first introduced in 1942:
The Three Laws, quoted as being from the “Handbook of Robotics, 56th Edition, 2058 A.D.”, are:

A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
Even so, this video both mesmerizes and terrifies me just a little bit.
